Dafferns’ tournament raises £700 for Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice

Professionals from across Coventry and Warwickshire met on Tuesday 7th July 2015 to compete in a sporting challenge raising money for the local charity Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice.

The annual Dafferns Tennis and Table Tennis Tournament at Leamington Spa Lawn Tennis and Squash Club raised an impressive £700 for the charity. Around 40 competitors, drawn from Dafferns’ clients, business contacts and other professional firms in the area, competed for the honours, both indoors and out and enjoyed afternoon tea in the clubhouse afterwards. It was a fun occasion and a great opportunity to meet up with other local professionals in a relaxed environment.

Jeremy Fowler from Leamington law firm Wright Hassall successfully made it through the various rounds of the tennis tournament along with doubles partner Tony Mitchell from Cranfield Business Recovery, beating Royal Bank of Scotland’s Raphael Reith and Hexagon’s Mitchell Hill in the final.

Inside, the table tennis final saw Handelsbanken’s Chris Smith and Royal Bank of Scotland’s Adam Smith secure victory over the infamous Dafferns sporting duo “The Two Brians” (AKA – Dafferns tax partners Brian Jukes and Brian King).

We would like to thank everyone who attended for their support in raising money for this very worthwhile local cause.
